What you get
Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport North by IHG is a 2 star property on Virginia Avenue in College Park. The listed facilities cover the basics an airport stay needs: a 24 hour front desk, express check in, luggage storage, free wifi, air conditioning, non smoking rooms, lifts, parking and a shuttle service. Rooms come with a desk, TV, telephone, safe, iron and board, hairdryer, toiletries and towels. Some have a microwave and refrigerator. There is an outdoor pool, a fitness centre, a business center, a restaurant, a bar and lounge, and breakfast is listed. Wheelchair access and cots are noted. The list is thin on the small things: coffee is listed but no kettle, and the banquet and golf course entries look like nearby options rather than things on site.
What that adds up to is a functional stop near the airport. Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport North by IHG suits you if you have a flight to catch, a short work stay, or a need for parking and a shuttle. It is wrong for a holiday: College Park is not Atlanta, the star rating is 2, and the guest score of 3.4 from 2362 reviews points to a hotel that does the job without pretending to be more. Pets are allowed, which helps if you are travelling with a dog. The pool and fitness centre give you something to do if you are stuck here. Treat it as a bed near the runway, not a destination, and it makes sense.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book this one if your plans hinge on the airport rather than the city, and check the room type for a microwave or refrigerator before you confirm. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
