What you get
The Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Airport North Virginia Ave lists the practical set you would expect from a 3 star airport extended stay: an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, a fitness center, a basketball court and a volleyball court, a garden and a picnic area. Inside there is free wifi, free internet access in the lounge, a business center, a buffet breakfast, coffee, a free newspaper, laundry and dry cleaning service, luggage storage, a safe and a 24 hour front desk with express check in and check out. Parking is available, both self parking and car parking, and the property is wheelchair accessible. The list is thin on nothing you would notice, but it is a list of facilities rather than a list of rooms, so you will not find detail here on kitchen layouts, bed sizes or how the suites are arranged.
What that adds up to at the Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Airport North Virginia Ave is a functional base rather than a destination. The sports courts, pool and picnic area only pay off in warm weather, and the business center and free wifi carry a work trip. You are in Hapeville on International Blvd, 2.6 km from the centre of College Park, so a car makes the stay easy and legs do not. Book it if you want space, a kitchen and parking near the airport for more than one night. Look elsewhere if you want to step out of the lobby into a walkable neighbourhood, or if you are treating Atlanta as a holiday rather than a stop.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book the Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Airport North Virginia Ave direct if you want the suite layout confirmed before you arrive. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
