What you get
Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Airport North lists the full set of facilities you would expect from a three star airport hotel. Every room has air conditioning, a desk, a sofa bed, a microwave, a refrigerator, a TV, a radio, a telephone, an alarm clock, an iron and board, a hairdryer, toiletries and a safe. The hotel has a restaurant, a fitness centre, an indoor pool, a business centre, a banquet room, a 24 hour front desk, express check in, a concierge, luggage storage, dry cleaning, laundry service and lifts. It is wheelchair accessible. The list is long but generic. It tells you nothing about the size of the suites or the state of the pool, and there is no outdoor space.
For someone flying out of Atlanta, Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Airport North does the job. The rail label Airport, Red/Gold puts the trains within reach, and the trail label Off the loop places this hotel outside the city's main trail circuit. The indoor pool and the fitness centre fill a spare hour. The restaurant and the business centre mean you can work and eat without leaving. The guest score of 4.3 out of 5 from 435 reviews points to a property that most people leave satisfied. It suits an early flight, a one night layover or a short business trip. It is wrong for a holiday in Atlanta, and it is wrong for anyone who wants to walk out of the lobby into the city.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book this one if your trip is built around the airport rather than the city. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
