What you get
The Radisson Hotel Atlanta Airport lists the things a flyer checks first: 24 hour front desk, express check in, luggage storage and a shuttle service. Rooms come with air conditioning, a desk, refrigerator, safe, iron and board, hairdryer, coffee, TV and free wifi, and the property runs non smoking rooms, family rooms and wheelchair accessible rooms. There is a restaurant, a bar and a lounge, breakfast and breakfast in room, room service, a fitness center, a business center, laundry and dry cleaning, parking, an ATM and a market. The list is thin on outside space and on anything that would make this a destination in itself: Off the loop is the trail label, and there is no pool.
For someone flying out of Atlanta, the Radisson Hotel Atlanta Airport does the job: sleep, shower, eat, take the shuttle, with a front desk that never closes and a wake up service for the early start. It sits 2.3 km from the centre of College Park, and the Airport, Red/Gold rail label means you are on the city rail side of town rather than in a sightseeing district. Book it if your trip is a flight, a layover or one night before a meeting. Do not book it as a base for a holiday in Atlanta: the setting is airport commercial, the facilities are functional rather than leisure, and you would spend your days travelling in.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book the Radisson Hotel Atlanta Airport when your schedule is built around a flight, not around the city. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
