What you get
The Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport College Park by IHG lists the things an airport stay needs: a 24 hour front desk, express check in, luggage storage, a shuttle service, free wifi and parking. Rooms come with air conditioning, a desk, a TV, a telephone, a coffee maker, a microwave, a refrigerator, an iron and board, a hairdryer, a safe and a sofa bed in some. The property also lists a fitness center, an outdoor salt water pool, a business center, a lounge, a bar or snack cafe and a market. Breakfast is listed. The list is thin on the things that make a longer stay comfortable: no kitchen, no apartment style space and nothing beyond the standard hotel room.
For someone flying out of Atlanta, that adds up to a straightforward bed near the airport with a shuttle to take you there and a pool to sit by if you have hours to kill. The Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport College Park by IHG suits a one night stop, a layover or an early departure, and it suits anyone who values a front desk that never closes. It does not suit a holiday. College Park is 2.5 km from the centre of College Park, so the hotel is not a base for seeing the city, and the two star rating sets the expectations for the room itself.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Booking this one is mostly about the shuttle and the address, so sort those first. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
