What you get
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Airport North is a three star property on Virginia Ave in College Park, and the list it publishes is built around the airport trip. There is a shuttle service, parking, a 24 hour front desk, express check in, luggage storage and a business center. Rooms come with air conditioning, a television, a telephone, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee setup, a hairdryer, an iron and board, a safe and free wifi. The wider building adds an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a lounge, a market, a picnic area and a terrace. Pets are allowed and there are family rooms. The list is thin on anything beyond the room and the runway: no restaurant is named, no bar is named, and beyond breakfast the food question is left open.
What that adds up to is a straightforward airport hotel: La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Airport North does the bed, the parking and the ride to the terminal, and it does them without pretension. The pool, the fitness center and the breakfast give you something to do between landing and leaving. It suits an early flight, a cancelled connection, a one night work stop or a road trip that ends at the airport. It does not suit a long Atlanta holiday: there is no restaurant in the building, and the centre of College Park, 2.1 km from the centre of College Park, is where you go for that. Couples and families will be comfortable; anyone wanting a holiday base should look elsewhere.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book this one directly if your trip is built around the airport, because the parking and the shuttle are the reason to be here. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
