What you get
The Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead lists the full five star set in Greater Atlanta. You get an indoor pool, a swimming pool, a spa, a sauna, a steam room, a jacuzzi, a fitness center and massage. There are restaurants and bars, room service and breakfast in room. Rooms carry air conditioning, bath, shower, bathrobe, slippers, hairdryer, toiletries, safe, minibar, TV, telephone, desk, iron and board, coffee, refrigerator, alarm clock and radio, plus balcony, terrace, garden and kitchen or kitchenette in some. Practical items include free wifi, internet access, business center, copy, concierge, 24 hour front desk, express check in, housekeeping, cleaning, laundry service, dry cleaning service and luggage storage. Lifts, cot, sofa bed, non smoking rooms, wheelchair accessible rooms and pets allowed are listed. Parking, garage and valet parking appear. The thin part is golf course, which is listed without detail.
What that adds up to at the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead is a hotel built around staying in. The pool, spa and fitness floor give you a day without leaving the building, and the restaurants and bars cover dinner. The business center, concierge and 24 hour desk suit a work trip or a booked schedule. The address is 6.7 km from Piedmont Park, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and the rail label reads Midtown, 12 min. Suits people who want a five star address in Greater Atlanta and will use the spa, pool and dining. Does not suit anyone hunting the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Piedmont Park. They are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. They sit in the wider metro, and Piedmont Park is only the nearest of those neighbourhoods, which is a different thing from being in it. You are outside the loop, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for.
Piedmont Park itself is the most expensive mile on the loop. You are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. If that is what you came for, you will be going to it rather than sleeping beside it, and the rail and trail labels tell you how the trip out is made: Midtown, 12 min, and the trail at the door.

Booking it
Book the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead directly if you want the spa, pool and dining on site and do not mind paying for a five star address. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
