What you get
The Sunshine Retreat is a 4 star property on Williams Avenue in College Park. The list leans residential rather than hotel: a kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator, a washing machine, iron and board, and laundry service on top. Outside there is a balcony and a patio, and a pool bar. Rooms come with air conditioning, a fan, a desk, a TV, a safe and a fireplace, plus a bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, WC, hairdryer, toiletries and towels. Cots and family rooms are listed. Free wifi and internet access are covered, and parking is free, with 24 hour security, smoke detectors and security features. What the list does not carry is a restaurant, a gym, a lift, a reception desk or a shuttle, so you eat in or go out and you drive yourself.
For a group or a family, The Sunshine Retreat covers the practical ground: you can cook, wash clothes, park a car and put children in a cot, and the airport line from College Park keeps the trip simple. For a couple on a short holiday, it is a different calculation, because the address is 2.4 km from the centre of College Park, so an evening out means a car or a ride and not a stroll. The Sunshine Retreat suits people who want space, a kitchen and their own parking, and who treat the room or house as a base. It does not suit anyone who wants a lobby, a bar downstairs, a restaurant in the building or everything within walking distance.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book The Sunshine Retreat if you want a whole house with parking and a kitchen in College Park rather than a hotel room. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
