What you get
The Silver Comet is a four star property on Commodore Drive Northwest, in Bankhead, 2.8 km from the centre of Bankhead. The listed facilities lean domestic: a kitchen with oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and coffee, plus a washing machine, iron and board, and a bathroom with bath, shower and hairdryer. There is free wifi and internet access, air conditioning, a desk, a TV with video, non smoking rooms and family rooms. Free car parking is listed, and express check in. Where the list is thin is the hotel furniture: one photo on file, no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no pool.
What that adds up to is an apartment rather than a hotel stay. You cook, you wash, you park, you come and go through express check in. The Silver Comet suits someone staying several days who wants a kitchen and a washing machine, or a family needing space and separate rooms. It does not suit anyone who wants a lobby, room service or a restaurant downstairs, and it is not a holiday resort. Bankhead Green is the rail label for getting around, and you are 0.7 mi to trail.

Where it puts you
This is Bankhead, on the Northwest side, and the Green line station puts the whole rail network within reach from here. You are on the BeltLine too, with the trail at 0.7 mi to trail. What the site says about the area is plain: the lowest median on the loop and a Green line station, thin on places to eat, so plan to travel for dinner.
It suits you if you want the cheapest ground on the loop, a train under your feet and a trail you can reach. It does not suit you if you want dinner on the doorstep or a neighbourhood to wander after dark. Manage your expectations and Bankhead works.
Booking it
Booking this one is a question of whether a self catering base in Bankhead is what your trip needs, since there is no desk staff culture to fall back on. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
