What you get
Stay Alfred at Cortland Phipps Plaza is a four star property in Greater Atlanta with between one and fifty rooms, so it runs small. The listed facilities are the apartment kind rather than the hotel kind: a kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave and refrigerator, plus coffee, towels, toiletries, a hairdryer and an iron and board. Air conditioning, free wifi and a TV are listed, and there are lifts. Outside there is an outdoor pool, and there are twelve photos on file. The list is thin on service: no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no parking and no workspace are named.
What that adds up to is a self contained stay rather than a serviced one. Stay Alfred at Cortland Phipps Plaza gives you somewhere to make your own meals, wash your clothes and spread out, which is what a longer trip or a family needs. It suits people who are happy to look after themselves and who want the pool and the kitchen as the main draw. It does not suit anyone who wants a concierge, room service or a restaurant downstairs.

These hotels are not in Piedmont Park. They are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. They sit in the wider metro, and Piedmont Park is only the nearest of those neighbourhoods, which is a different thing from being in it. You are outside the loop, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for.
Piedmont Park itself is the most expensive mile on the loop. You are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. If that is what you came for, you will be going to it rather than sleeping beside it, and the rail and trail labels tell you how the trip out is made: Midtown, 12 min, and the trail at the door.
