Kitchenette, microwave, refrigerator and coffee mean you can feed yourself, and the sofa bed gives a suite room enough to split. There is free wifi, a fitness center, a market, a lounge and a bar. Parking runs to both a garage and valet, and the front desk is staffed round the clock. Where the list goes thin is character: no pool, no restaurant worth naming, no outdoor space, and a fireplace that does little for a summer stay.
For a work trip or an early start from Downtown, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Atlanta Downtown does the job without fuss: you can store luggage, check in express, dry clean, and be at Five Points, all lines, in a few minutes. The star rating and the guest score of 4.1 out of 5 from 1237 reviews say the same thing, which is competent rather than memorable. Book it if you want a kitchenette and a bed near the middle of the city. Do not book it for a holiday, a pool, or a weekend of atmosphere.

Where it puts you
You are staying Downtown, inside the loop, where the train at Five Points puts every line in the city within reach. That is the point of the location: you can move around Atlanta without a car, and the rest of the trip is built on that. The site's own line on the neighbourhood is blunt about the trade: the cheapest walk to a train in the city, with convention traffic setting the price, so a Tuesday in January is a different hotel than a Tuesday in October.
The BeltLine trail is also here, and the 0.8 mi to trail is the figure to keep in mind if you plan to walk or run it. This suits anyone whose trip runs on transit and convention schedules. It does not suit a holiday built around quiet streets and long, slow mornings.
