What you get
Oldfield Escape is a four star property on Oldfield Road, and its list is built around a kitchen: oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, plus a desk, free wifi and a TV. There is free car parking, pets are allowed, and the rooms are non smoking. Bathroom items include towels and a hairdryer, and there is an iron and board. The list is thin on anything shared. There is no pool, no gym, no restaurant, no bar and no reception desk described, so do not book Oldfield Escape expecting a hotel with staff on hand all day. It is a self contained address, and the facilities are the ones you would use inside a house: you eat, work and sleep there, and you leave by car.
That makes Oldfield Escape a straightforward choice for a particular kind of stay. If you are in Decatur to visit family, work from a desk for a few days, or break a longer drive, the parking and the kitchen carry the trip, and the pet policy removes the problem of finding someone to leave the dog with. If you are on holiday and want to walk to dinner, this is the wrong address: the centre of Decatur is not on the doorstep, and you will drive or take the Decatur, Blue/Green line. The same applies if you want a lobby, a concierge or a bar downstairs. Oldfield Escape suits drivers, cooks and pet owners, and it does not suit anyone whose trip depends on being in the middle of things.

Where it puts you
Decatur is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. That rail station is on the Blue and Green lines, so you can reach the rest of the system without driving and without a transfer at a downtown hub. The square, the station and the surrounding streets are the walkable part, and they hold most of what you would come here for.
This is off the loop, so the BeltLine trail is not on your doorstep; the trail label reads off the loop. Suits anyone who wants a self-contained town with a rail link and a real restaurant scene. Does not suit anyone who wants to step out onto the BeltLine or be in central Atlanta.
Booking it
Book Oldfield Escape if you want a kitchen, a parking space and a pet friendly address rather than a staffed hotel. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
