What you get

Rooms are non smoking and pets are allowed. That is a working list for a self contained stay rather than a serviced one. The thin part is the rest: no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no front desk, nothing on the list beyond the house itself and what comes with it.
For the right person that collection matters more than a lobby. You cook, you wash clothes, you park without paying, you sit on the balcony or in the garden, and you keep a pet with you. The New MCM Retreat in Downtown Decatur suits a small group or a family staying several days, arriving by car, treating Decatur as a base rather than a stopover. It does not suit anyone who wants daily housekeeping, room service or a walkable doorstep on arrival.

Decatur is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. That rail station is on the Blue and Green lines, so you can reach the rest of the system without driving and without a transfer at a downtown hub. The square, the station and the surrounding streets are the walkable part, and they hold most of what you would come here for.
This is off the loop, so the BeltLine trail is not on your doorstep; the trail label reads off the loop. Suits anyone who wants a self-contained town with a rail link and a real restaurant scene. Does not suit anyone who wants to step out onto the BeltLine or be in central Atlanta.
