Book it if you want a cheap bed with parking and a fridge, or if you are passing through Greater Atlanta. Do not book it for a holiday centred on Virginia-Highland or on foot.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Virginia-Highland. They sit outside the twenty four neighbourhoods this site covers, in the wider metro, and Virginia-Highland is only the nearest of them. Treat that as the main fact about where you are sleeping: you are not in the loop, you are in Greater Atlanta, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for.
The nearest neighbourhood is bungalow blocks and a walkable village of bars. Almost no hotels, mostly short-let rooms, so book well ahead. The area sits on the northeast side, with no rail, bus and bike instead, and the trail is close by. If you want to be inside the neighbourhood itself, these hotels will not put you there.
