The building covers the practical side with a 24 hour front desk, concierge, lifts, ATM, laundry service, wifi, internet access, non smoking rooms, wheelchair accessible areas, first aid, smoke detectors and parking including valet. On site you find a restaurant, bars, a market, a fitness center and an outdoor pool, with a terrace and a fireplace in the mix. Where the list thins out is anything plush: two stars means no spa, no business center beyond copy facilities and no promised park view. Even the nearby label sits oddly this far inland.
For someone staying at Margaritaville Vacation Club Atlanta, that mix means a base where you can feed yourself rather than eat out every meal, unpack properly, and keep children or a group in one unit thanks to the kitchen, sofa bed and laundry service. The location is the stronger argument: Downtown, 0.5 km from the centre of Downtown, near Five Points, all lines, so the rail network is close, and 0.8 mi to trail. It suits families, longer city stays and anyone who wants a pool and a kitchen and treats the room as a place to live. It does not suit you if you want polished four star service, quiet, or a hotel where the room itself is the point, because two stars is exactly what it says.

Where it puts you
You are staying Downtown, inside the loop, where the train at Five Points puts every line in the city within reach. That is the point of the location: you can move around Atlanta without a car, and the rest of the trip is built on that. The site's own line on the neighbourhood is blunt about the trade: the cheapest walk to a train in the city, with convention traffic setting the price, so a Tuesday in January is a different hotel than a Tuesday in October.
The BeltLine trail is also here, and the 0.8 mi to trail is the figure to keep in mind if you plan to walk or run it. This suits anyone whose trip runs on transit and convention schedules. It does not suit a holiday built around quiet streets and long, slow mornings.

Margaritaville Vacation Club Atlanta is one of the easier Downtown properties to lock in because the apartment style rooms mean you are not gambling on space.
