What you get
Lodge Atlanta is a two star property on Northeast Expressway in Doraville. The listed facilities run practical rather than polished: free car parking, coach parking, a conference room, free internet access in the lounge, a fridge, a microwave, a TV, laundry service and luggage storage. Outside there is a garden, an outdoor pool, a picnic area and a smoking area. The list is thin on anything beyond the basics, with no restaurant, no fitness room and no airport shuttle named, so you eat out or microwave something in.
What that adds up to is a straightforward motorist's stop. The parking and the pool carry the stay, the conference room and coach parking keep it useful for groups, and the fridge and microwave cut food costs if you are watching them. Lodge Atlanta suits drivers on a long haul, work crews, and anyone who wants a bed, a shower and a place to leave the car. It does not suit a holiday built on walking to dinner, or anyone without a vehicle.

These hotels are not in Decatur. They sit in the wider metro, outside the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and Decatur is only the nearest of them. Treat that as the shape of the stay: you are based in greater Atlanta, not on the loop, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for. Decatur itself is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia, and the Blue/Green lines stop there, so it is reachable rather than next door.
For the BeltLine, look to the trail: these addresses sit off the loop, at the far end of the mile markings this site uses, and getting onto it means a deliberate trip rather than a stroll out of the lobby. Choose these hotels if you want the metro and its edges, not if you want to wake up inside the city the site is about.
