What you get
Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter lists a full set of the things a four star hotel is expected to have: a restaurant and bar, room service, breakfast in room, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a business center. Rooms come with air conditioning, a desk, a safe, a TV, a coffee setup and toiletries; the hotel adds a 24 hour front desk, parking, wifi, a shuttle service, laundry and dry cleaning, luggage storage, a terrace and a fireplace. Pets are allowed, cots are available and the property is wheelchair accessible. The list is thin on nothing that matters for a standard stay, though it promises no kitchen and no self catering.
What that adds up to is a hotel built for a working trip or a stopover rather than a holiday. Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter sits 15.6 km from Piedmont Park, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and Midtown, 12 min is the rail label attached to it, so you are not in the middle of the city's sights. With a pool, a restaurant and a shuttle, you can land, work and eat without leaving, which is the point. Book it if you need a reliable four star bed in Greater Atlanta. Do not book it if your trip is about walking Atlanta's neighbourhoods.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Piedmont Park, and they are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. Piedmont Park is simply the nearest of them, the closest edge of the map. What that means in practice is that you are staying in the wider metro, in Greater Atlanta, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for. The park, the skyline behind it, the busiest stretch of the BeltLine: none of it is on your doorstep.
This site calls Piedmont Park the most expensive mile on the loop, where you are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. That is the neighbourhood you are travelling toward, not the one you are sleeping in. Midtown sits at 12 min on the rail label, and the trail label puts the trail at the door, but read those as labels for Piedmont Park itself. Your bed is out past it.

Booking it
Book Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter if you want the facilities of a four star hotel in Greater Atlanta rather than a room in the middle of the city. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
