What you get
Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport South is a 3 star property on Sullivan Road in College Park, 2.8 km from the centre of College Park. The listed facilities cover the practical end of a stay well: 24 hour front desk, express check in, shuttle service, free wifi, parking, air conditioning, non smoking rooms, lifts and safety features including smoke detectors and first aid. Rooms list a desk, refrigerator, coffee, iron and board, hairdryer, toiletries, bath, shower, WC, TV, radio, alarm clock, carpeted floors and a sofa bed, with family rooms available. There is an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a business center, a bar or snack cafe and bars, along with breakfast, room service and housekeeping. Pets are allowed. The list is thin on the detail you would want for a longer stay: no kitchen or laundry in the room, and no restaurant beyond the bar and breakfast setup.
What that adds up to at Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport South is a functional bed near the airport rather than a destination. The pool, fitness center and breakfast make a short stop comfortable, and the shuttle, 24 hour front desk and express check in matter when your flight is early or your arrival is late. The sofa bed and family rooms help if you are travelling with children, and pets are allowed. It does not suit anyone planning to spend days in Atlanta: the property is in College Park, removed from the city, and the facilities are built around transit rather than leisure. Book it for a flight, not for a holiday.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport South if your trip turns on a flight rather than on Atlanta itself. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
