Every room comes with a kitchen, and that means a dishwasher, a microwave, a refrigerator and a toaster, plus a coffee setup. You also get air conditioning, a desk, an iron and board, a hairdryer, a safe and a sofa bed, with a cot available. The wider building holds a fitness centre, a business centre, a market, a laundry service, a terrace, a bar and banquet space, and the front desk is staffed around the clock. Where the list thins out is dining: there is no restaurant, so the kitchen carries the meals.
What that adds up to at Home2 Suites by Hilton Atlanta Downtown is a base for someone staying several days and treating the room as an apartment rather than a hotel. The kitchen and laundry matter more than any lobby, and the garage, valet parking and luggage storage take the friction out of arriving by car. Pets are allowed, family rooms exist and the property is wheelchair accessible, so it works for a range of stays. It suits the week long work trip, the family that eats in, and anyone who wants five points on hand for getting around. It does not suit a visitor who wants a restaurant downstairs or a hotel with atmosphere to spare.

Where it puts you
You are staying Downtown, inside the loop, where the train at Five Points puts every line in the city within reach. That is the point of the location: you can move around Atlanta without a car, and the rest of the trip is built on that. The site's own line on the neighbourhood is blunt about the trade: the cheapest walk to a train in the city, with convention traffic setting the price, so a Tuesday in January is a different hotel than a Tuesday in October.
The BeltLine trail is also here, and the 0.8 mi to trail is the figure to keep in mind if you plan to walk or run it. This suits anyone whose trip runs on transit and convention schedules. It does not suit a holiday built around quiet streets and long, slow mornings.

Book this one early if you want a kitchen, because the suite inventory is the reason to choose it over the hotels around Five Points.
