Home2 Suites by Hilton Atlanta Buckhead South is a three star property on Peachtree Street in Home Park, 2.6 km from the centre of Home Park. The listed facilities are short: a gymnasium and a kitchenette. The kitchenette is the one that changes how you use the room, because you can keep food in and cook rather than eat out for every meal. The gymnasium covers the other end of the day. Beyond those two, the list is thin. There is no pool, no restaurant and no bar on the list, so if you want those on site, this is not it. What that adds up to at Home2 Suites by Hilton Atlanta Buckhead South is a plain, self sufficient stay. Home Park puts you close to Midtown, and the trail is 0.8 mi to trail. You get a room you can live in for several days, a place to train and a location that keeps you near the centre. It suits someone in Atlanta for work, a course or an extended visit who wants a kitchen and does not need the property to entertain them. It does not suit a holiday, a short break or anyone who wants the hotel itself to be the destination.

These hotels sit in Home Park, the pocket of student housing turned budget stock between Georgia Tech and West Midtown. Good rates, walkable to both. You are on the north side of town, and Midtown is the rail connection, 20 min, which puts the whole north south line within reach without a car. The BeltLine is close too, 0.8 mi to trail, so a stay here can be a walking and cycling one rather than a driving one.
It suits anyone who wants a cheap base near the universities and the West Midtown side of the city, and it suits a trip built around the trail and the train. It does not suit a quiet holiday. This is a student neighbourhood, busy and loud in term time, and the stock is basic. Book it for the location and the rate, not for the room.
