Hilltop Inn lists the basics plainly. Every room has air conditioning, a private bathroom with a bath or shower, a toilet, towels, sheets and toiletries. You also get a desk, a television, a microwave and free wifi, with internet access across the property. There is a twenty four hour front desk and a wake up service. Parking is free, and the hotel is non smoking throughout. The list stops there. Hilltop Inn has no restaurant, no pool, no gym and no airport shuttle, so you eat and spend your time elsewhere. What Hilltop Inn adds up to is a simple, self contained room close to the southern edge of Greater Atlanta, best reached by car. The free parking and the staffed desk are the two things that matter most here, and they suit a late arrival or a one night stop. Couples and families passing through on the interstate will find it workable if they want only a bed and a shower. It is wrong for anyone planning to walk to restaurants, bars or attractions, and wrong for a long stay without a car. Choose Hilltop Inn for the practical stop, not the trip.

These hotels are not in Peoplestown. They sit well outside it, in the wider metro, and Peoplestown is only the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. So treat this as a Greater Atlanta stay rather than a city neighbourhood one: you are on the South side of town, beyond the loop, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for.
The site's own note on Peoplestown is that it is cheap, residential, improving fast along the Southside Trail, and that you will want a bike or a car for evenings. There is no rail, bus instead, and the trail is 1.1 mi to trail. That is the nearest neighbourhood, not the one you are sleeping in. Book here if you want the wider metro and a base away from the centre, not if you want to walk out into Peoplestown.
