What you get
Econo Lodge Decatur Atlanta East is a 2 star property on Glenwood Rd, and the listed facilities are the sort you use rather than admire. Free car parking and free wifi cover the two things most people ask about first. There is air conditioning, a TV, a hairdryer, an iron and board, and non smoking rooms. Breakfast is listed, as are housekeeping, cleaning, laundry service and room service. The front desk runs 24 hours, there is an ATM and a safe, and the security side lists smoke detectors, first aid and security features. Bars are listed, though the list does not say whether that means a bar on site or one nearby. The list is thin on anything else: no pool, no gym, no restaurant, no kitchen and no shuttle. Copy is listed, which is the only nod to working space. Econo Lodge Decatur Atlanta East keeps the offer narrow on purpose.
What that adds up to at Econo Lodge Decatur Atlanta East is a straightforward bed with the car parked outside and the wifi working. You get the room, the air conditioning, the breakfast and the desk that never closes, and you give up the extras a holiday would want. Greater Atlanta is the setting, and the rail label Decatur, Blue/Green is the useful part of it if you are heading into the city without driving. The trail label Off the loop describes where this sits relative to the loop rather than what is on the doorstep. Book Econo Lodge Decatur Atlanta East if you are driving, if you want free parking and a 24 hour desk, and if Decatur is your anchor. Do not book it if you want a base for a week of sightseeing, or if the room itself is meant to be the point.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Decatur. They are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. They sit in the wider metro, off-loop on the east side, and Decatur is simply the nearest of those neighbourhoods, close enough to be the default answer to where you are. It is not where you are sleeping.
That matters when you plan your days. The square, the restaurants and the rest of what the loop is known for are a trip away, not a stroll from your room. Decatur itself is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. It has the Decatur, Blue/Green rail stop, while the hotels themselves sit off the loop. Suits anyone who wants the east side and a base outside the city proper, and anyone driving in. Wrong if you pictured walking out your door into Decatur.
