It also does not suit anyone hoping to arrive by train, because there is no rail here: bus plus bike is the way in.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Virginia-Highland. They sit well outside it, in the wider metro, and Virginia-Highland is only the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. Treat that as the point: you are booking a bed on the edge of the city, not a base inside the loop. The things people come to Atlanta for are not on your doorstep, and Virginia-Highland itself is a place you travel to rather than walk out into.
The neighbourhood, for reference, is bungalow blocks and a walkable village of bars. Almost no hotels, mostly short-let rooms, so book well ahead. There is no rail here, just bus and bike, and the trail runs 0.3 mi away. Come for a bed and a car, not for the trip.
