What you get
Comfort Inn & Suites Atlanta Smyrna lists the practical equipment of a two star roadside hotel. Every room has air conditioning, a private bathroom with bath or shower, a hairdryer, toiletries, a desk, a TV and a telephone, and the list runs further into a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, an iron and board, a safe and a sofa bed. Wifi is free and there is free car parking. The property also lists an indoor pool, a fitness center, a jacuzzi and a spa, along with a 24 hour front desk, laundry service and wake up service. The thin part of the list is food and drink: bars are named, but no restaurant, no breakfast and no kitchen beyond the in room microwave.
What that adds up to is a hotel built around the car and the short stay. The room has what you need to heat something, park outside and sleep, and the pool and fitness center give you something to do without leaving the building. Comfort Inn & Suites Atlanta Smyrna suits a driver passing through Greater Atlanta, someone with business in Smyrna sitting just off the highway, or a traveller who wants a bed and free parking rather than a destination. It suits you less if you are in Atlanta for a holiday without a car. The nearest neighbourhood this site covers is Bankhead, 8.7 km from Bankhead, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and that is a drive, not a stroll. The guest score of 3.4 out of 5 from 792 reviews is middling, which fits a hotel that does its job without pretending to be more.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Bankhead. They sit outside the twenty four neighbourhoods this site covers, in the wider metro, and Bankhead is only the nearest of them. Treat it as a marker on the map, not as your address. What that means in practice is travel: the loop's famous stretches, its restaurants and its crowds, are not on your doorstep, and you should plan your days around getting to them rather than assuming they are close.
Bankhead itself sits on the northwest side, on the Green line at Bankhead, with 0.7 mi to trail and a Beltline mile of 13.2. The site's own note on the area is blunt: the lowest median on the loop and a Green line station, thin on places to eat, so plan to travel for dinner. Book here if you want the wider metro as your base and don't mind the distance from the loop. It is wrong if you came for the Beltline on foot.

Booking it
This property is one where booking early is worth the small effort, because the free parking and the indoor pool are what most people are actually paying for. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
