What you get
The Atlanta Airport Marriott lists the full apparatus of a large airport hotel: a 24 hour front desk, express check in, luggage storage, a concierge, a business center, car rental, shuttle service and both valet and self parking. Rooms come with air conditioning, a desk, a safe, a refrigerator, coffee, a bathrobe, a hairdryer and a balcony, and the hotel runs an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a spa, a restaurant, a bar and a lounge. Banquet space and a terrace sit alongside tennis and a garden. The list gets thin on practical transport detail and laundry apart from dry cleaning and a laundry service.
For a stay attached to a flight, the Atlanta Airport Marriott gives you what a late arrival or an early departure asks for: a bed, a shower, food on site and a front desk that never closes. The pools and gym are there if you have hours to fill, not if you are sprinting for a gate. It suits a business traveller breaking a trip or a family needing one night before an early flight, and it does not suit anyone wanting a holiday base in the city. You are 3.0 km from the centre of College Park, on the Airport, Red/Gold side, off the loop rather than on it.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
Book the Atlanta Airport Marriott early if your stay depends on one specific flight, because the shuttle and the parking fill up around peak departures. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
